This
church belongs to the Bolungarvik benefice in the Isafiord deanery.
The estate was a parsonage in the past and served the Jokulfiords
Bay area. This was probably
the most difficult part of the country for any Reverend to serve,
because of both its size and the mountainous landscapes.
There was a chapel on the Furufiord cove, and for a period of 10
years, the Reverend served the Unadsdalur benefice in the
Snaefjallastrond area. The present church was built late in the 19th
century. |
