ITINERARY

Day 1. The Hvammstangi and Midfjordur area.
The rented car awaits for a sightseeing drive around the big peninsula to the nearest bay to the west, Skagafjordur
.  En-route are the fishing towns Dalvik (possible boat tour to Island Hrisey), Olafsfjordur, and Hofsos.  Attractions on th way are in these towns, i.e. folk museums, the Emigration Museum, the old bishopric at Holar, and in town Saudarkrokur are quite a few
old houses
.. Then drive to Midfjordur where you will be accommodated for the next four nights.


Day
2. Fishing in Lake Hop  
Lake Hop is the country's fifth largest natural lake, situated in Hunafjordur ,N-West Iceland.
 
The catch in the lake is mainly Sea Trout, Brown Trout and  Arctic Char. But there are good possibilities of catching Salmon as well. Average catch per day is 3 – 25 Arctic Char and 1 – 5
Sea Trout.  The bait: Fly, spoon and worm.

Day
3. Fishing in Lake Arnarvatn stóra
Arnarvatnsheiði is in the interior of Iceland. The catch in the lake is mainly  char and brown
trout but the catch can vary depending on the tackle, the weather and other circumstances.
The permits are valid all around the lake and in the upper part of the East River.
About 1/3 of the catch usually is brown trout.  The bait: Fly, spoon and worm.

Day 4. Fishing in Lake Torfastadavatn.
The catch consists of both brown trout and lake char, mainly one to 3 pounders.
The bait: Fly, spoon and worm.
 
Day 5. Varmahlid
Today can be spent relaxing, or for a short sightseeing trip around the peninsula Vatnsnes. 
En-route are unique natural phenomena to visit.  First comes the natural fortress Borgarvirki,
then the monster-looking, free standing rodk in the sea, Hvitserkur.  Seal rookeries are on the western side of the peninsula, where the seals can be spotted in their natural habitat.  The Seal Centre is in the fising village Hvammstangi. Then Drive to Varmahlid in Skagafjordur famuse

Day
6. Akureyri
Drive to Akureyri and spend rerst of the day in Akureyri.
The city offers you a unique charm and culture. You can find good restaurants, elegant shops, excellent museum and exciting night life.
