ITINERARY
Day 1.
The Central
Highlands.
Pick up the car today and head to the
Central Highlands-Driving
over
plateau Hellisheidi
continue to
Hveragerdi
continue to Selfoss through some of Iceland's richest farmlands to Hrauneyjar
via road no. 26 located few Km. before the town
Hella.
Accommodation in the
area for the next 4 nights.
Day
2. Fishing in
Lake
Fellsendavatn,
is a small lake in the proximity of lake Thorisvatn.
It is prolific and the catch consists of 2-6 pounders.
The bait: Fly, spoon and worm.
Day
3. Fishing in
Lakes of The Fjallabak Area.
Fish are abundant in most of these areas.
Over the past decades, some lakes have been netted to decrease their
number and
their average size. The fish caught in these lakes
consists
of brown trout , mainly
one
to 5
pounders.
The bait:
Fly, spoon and worm.
Day
4. Fishing in Lake
Thorisvatn.
This lake was the second largest natural
lake of the country
until ti was turned into the main reservoir for the first of the
large power stations on the rivers Tungnaa and Thjorsa.
The
catch consists of both brown trout and lake char, mainly
2-5
pounders.
The bait:
Fly, spoon and worm.
Day
5. Gullfoss – Geysir area.
To day head for
Valley
Thorsardalur.
Then visit Geysir hot spring area with its fabulous Strokkur
and Gullfoss waterfall.

Day
6. Reykjavík
Drive
to Reykjavik via Thingvellir National Park
Spend the reast of the
day in Reykjavík. The city offers you a unique charm and
culture. You can find good restaurants, elegant shops,
excellent museum and exciting night life.
Accommodation in Reykjavík at hotel or guesthouse
by your choice (optional)

Fishing Tackle
Disinfection: Iceland has
always been free of UDN and other freshwater diseases, and maintains a
strict disinfection policy towards tackle brought by visiting anglers.
Visitors can have their tackle disinfected by local vets, and obtain a
certificate to prove the fact, before leaving for Iceland, or have
their equipment disinfected by officials on arriving at Keflavík,
Akureyri or at Egilsstadir airport
.
