The
Nordurfjordur hut is called Valgeirsstadir. It is a restored
farmhouse in good condition, just above a beach at the end of the bay.
It has two storeys and is electrically heated. The upper floor
comprises four rooms for 4-6 guests, and the ground floor four rooms
for 6 guests each, a well equipped kitchen and a dining room.
The kitchen has an electric stove with an oven, a microwave, all
utensils, and running hot and cold water.
There are two WC and a shower. A small supermarket is only a 10
minutes' walking distance away and an outdoor swimming pool at
Krossnes.
Interesting, short hikes take you through majestic landscapes to the
top of Mts Tafla, Kalfatindar, Munadarnesfjall and Krossnesfjall.
A longer hike takes you to the Ingolfsfjordur Bay around Mt Strutur.
A stroll along the coastline takes you to attractions like
Trollahladi, Bergid and the Gvendur Seat, where bishop Gudmundur the
good sat when he was consecrating the dangerous Urdir screes.
