Golf Club Bakkakot was founded in the open on June 15th 1991.  Stream Kaldakvisl was bridged and a new training area was opened in 1999.  Forestation has been considerable during the years.

This town enjoys thermal activity and quite a few greenhouses have been built there. Since 1933 it has supplied the capital area with natural hot water for house heating, swimming pools etc. Every day thousands of tons of hot water are pumped through the pipelines from more than 100 boreholes in the mountains of  Mosfellsbaer.
