Golf Club Isafjordur was established in 1943. Its first golf
course was on the Skipeyri spit until the area was claimed for the
airport construction in 1960. The club was inactive until it was
reestablised on May 6th 1978. It was issued land for a three hole
golf course in Hnifsdalur and had to move once before its permanent
location was found in Valley Tungudalur.
