Golf Club Sandgerdi was founded in 1986.  Its golf course, Strandarvollur, is at Vallarhus, between the fishing villages Sandgerdi and Gardur.

Sandgerdi is a fishing and fish processing village on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Quite a few fishing outfits and a large number of fishing vessels are operated there. One of the few fishermen’s restaurants, Vitinn (The Lighthouse), with its nice atmosphere is down by the harbour.  A special Visitor’s Centre depicts the interaction between the nation and the country, the people and the environment and nature and history.
