Golf course Thvera is located in the eastern Eyjafjordur Valley, about 8 kilometres south of town Akureyri.  It is a brand new 9 hole course, par 3, opened in 2006.

River Eyjafjardara runs past nearby.  It counts among the best sea char rivers of the country and is divided into five two rod beats.  Beat one stretches from the estuaries to farm Munkathvera.
