This is a hamlet on the west side of the contry's longest bay, Eyjafjordur. It has a small harbour for a few small fishing vessels and the ferry to the Hrisey island.

The fishing grounds are nearby and the boats are well equipped for deep sea fishing. The catch belongs to the anglers and the grill is nearby, if they want to enjoy a good meal afterwards. The distance from the capital is 408 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 40 km from Akureyri.
