Lake Asmundartjorn is a small lake in the Bjarnarfjordur area. Reared trout and char is released there regularly. Only 3 permits per day. The catch consists mainly of lake char, sea trout and small salmon.

The price of the permits depends on the catch. Just north of the lake is the prototype of the beaches of this part of the country with abundant driftwood and bird life. Those, who are interested in deep sea angling only have to drive to the town Holmavik to realize that wish.   The distance from the capital is 308 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 35 km from Holmavik.
