Lake Djupavatn is a small lake in nice
and peaceful surroundings on the Reykjanes peninsula, with an area of 0,15 km². Its
deepest point is 16,7 m and it most probably is a crater lake like a few others in the
proximity. The lake supports quite a lot of small lake char.
The lake was considered
fishless until some char fries from lake Thingvallavatn were released there around 1960.
The lake is very popular among families because of its beautiful surroundings and the
number of rods per day is limited. A nice fishing lodge is on the lake.
