The catchment area of this river is widespread and it has an abundance of  good fishing spots, many of which are deep pools at the lava's edge.

The river tributes to the glacial river Skafta and the catch is both sea trout and sea char with a few salmons every season. Autumn are the best seasons for fishing even though summer is also good.
