These lakes
are located in the Northwest of Iceland. Lake Nedra-Selvatn has an area of
0,43 kmē and is situated 136 m above sea level. Lake Nedra-Selvatn is 0,62 kmē and at
133 m. The discharge of Nedra-Selvatn is Thufnaa, which empties into the cove
Vatnsfiord. The discharge of
Fremra-Selvatn is river Karlmannaa, which empties
into Bay Mjoifjordur.
The catch
consists mainly of brown trout, 2 pounders on the average, and also a few lake chars. The
lakes have to be approached on foot. Between the lakes is the abandoned farm
Vatnsfjardarsel in beautiful surroundings.
The distance from the capital is 328 km by the Whale Bay tunnel
and 129 km from Isafjordur. |
