A small but delightful river, branching from the Langa and flowing into river Nordura at its confluence with the Hvita river. Along with the Atlantic these rivers form Iceland’s largest "inland island" or so to speak.  The Gljufura is fished with three daily rods and anglers land anywhere from 150 to 550 salmon in a single season. These vast dips in form have mostly to do with water levels. If they are low then the Gljufura is difficult to cope with. That was the case in 1998-2010.
