These lakes (The Shallow Lakes) are located to the Southwest of
Lake Ulfsvatn. They are really only one lake, which is almost divided by a long peninsula
through its centre. Its area is 2,2 kmē.
It is shallow and located at 405 m
above sea level. The lakes are fed by three rivers from the east and north and discharged
by one. They and their brooks abound in big and well tasting lake chars and brown trout. A
4wd track lies all the way up to them.
The distance from the capital over the mountain
pass Kaldidalur is about 200 km. |
