Lakes Havadavotn are located some distance north of lake
Ulfsvatn. They have an
area of 1,9 kmē, they are shallow and located at 455 m above sea level. Two rivers
enter from the north and their discharge tributes to river Gilsbakkaa, which
continues to lake Ulfsvatn.
These lakes abound in large
and well tasting lake chars and brown trout, which can also be caught in the brooks
entering and discharging the lakes. The shortest way to the lakes is from lake
Ulfsvatn is considerable and has to be covered on foot. The distance from the capital over the
mountain pass Kaldidalur is about 200 km. |
