Lake Hestvatn
is rather a large and a deep lake in the Grimsnes parish. The fishing
permits are valid between the rivers Grjota and Galtalaekur and the best
fishing spots are on the coves Heimavik, Austurvik and Vesturvik.
Twenty permits are sold per
day and the catch consists of lake char, brown trout, a special small species of char and
eel. The best conditions are during warm, calm and cloudy days. The cove
Heimavik is
accessible by car and the walking time to the other two is 5-10 minutes each.
The distance from the capital is about 81 km. |
