This lake has an area of 2,4 kmē and is located at 358 m above sea level. Its discharge runs to the north and eventually cascades into the renowned salmon river Kjarra. It abounds in lake char and sometimes it is netted.

The two huts on its eastern banks, each for 4 persons, are included in the price of the licenses, which also include fishing in the river Lamba, along which one has to walk. The road to the lake starts at the farm Thorvaldsstadir.

The distance from the capital over the mountain pass Kaldidalur is about 190 km.
