Lake Holmavatn
on the Langanes peninsula in the Northeast, has an area of 0,5 km. It is shallow and situated
20 m above sea level. A brook from lake
Skipholatjorn spills into it and it is discharged through Krossos to the
sea.
The road
to Eidi lies along the lake. It abounds in lake char and brown trout. The catch in lake
Skipholatjorn is also quite good. Both lakes have been netted for a long time.
The distance from the capital 644 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 15 km from
Thorshofn.
