This run off river is in the Eyjafjordur District. During days or periods of
melting
it gets coloured by the glacial water. It is about 50 km long and looses it name after the
confluence with river Oxnadalsa.
Its surroundings are majestic and beautiful
and the many fishing spots are easily accessible. The catch consists mainly of fine sea char
and the brown trout weighs 1-3 pounds.
The distance from the capital is about 383 km by
the Whale Bay tunnel and 12 km from Akureyri. |
