This is the largest river of the country with the greatest number of salmons and an
abundance of sea trout and char.
The fishing area is named after the farm
Hraun by the estuary. This farm is mainly remembered in the Icelandic history, because one of
the Danish sheriffs was executed there. Nowadays the only arms carried about there are the
fishing rods. The fishing season starts on April first. The distance from the capital is
about 50 km. km.
