The town Isafiord is the Capital of the Northwest. The so-called Pool, the innermost part of the bay is ideal for coastal angling, where the sea char stops before it runs up the small rivers and brooks to spawn. The distance from the capital is about 488 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and by the car ferry from Stykkisholmur.
