Lagoon Laros is
separated from the sea by a narrow gravel reef. Its total area is 1,6 kmē and it is
located at sea level just west of the mountain Stod. Its greatest depth
is 11 m. Fish rearing has been successful here for decades (since 1965).
The catch consists mainly of lake char (1-6 pounders).
The fishing town Grundarfiord is
near by for board and lodging. The main road passes south of the lake.
No fishing permints are sold at the lake for futuer
notice.
The distance from the capital is about 223 km by the Whale Bay tunnel).
