One of the better rivers in Iceland, fished with 7-8 rods it
usually exceeds a thousand salmon in a season and often produces 1.200 to 1.600 fish.
It is one of the relatively few rivers in the
West and Southwest of Iceland that regularly yield 20 pounders . A few fish ranging from
20 to 26 pounds are taken each season. The Laxa has a full board and staff in a well
equipped lodge. The only blip in its armoury is a
tendency to become very low in water levels during draughts in the summer.
