Leira is a river in county Leirarsveit, a short distance from one of the best salmon rivers of the country, Laxa.  Leira enjoys its proximity as salmon runs through it, but mostly it is known for its sea-trout.  It is very sensitive and the anglers have the tread lightly on its banks.

The river is relatively easily accessible, especially its lower beat.  It is only fished by one rod and its lodge is good.
