Lake Middalsvatn, near the town Bolungarvik, has an area of about 0,9 km². It is shallow and its elevation is only 3 m.
It abounds in fish, lake char, brown trout, sea trout, the occasional salmon and eel.
The lake char averages
2 pounds and the heaviest salmon caught there weighed 17,5 pounds. For years on end 10.000
fries were released annually into the lake. Only four rods are permitted per day. A
caravan for the anglers is located on the northern side of the lake.
The distance from the capital is about 472 km by the Whale Bay tunnel. |
