Lake Midfjardarvatn is rather a large but shallow lake in the middle of the valley Linakradalur, just south of the main road (1).

On its banks ball games were played in the past according to The Grettis Saga. There is some life in the lake, but it is not among the best choices.

The distance from the capital is 207 km  by the Whale Bay tunnel and 10 km from Laugarbakki.
