Lake Nyjavatn is situated at 564,3 m above sea level.  Its area is 0,56 kmē, the greatest depth is 30 m, the volume 3,7 Gl, the average depth 6,6 m, the greatest length 1,4 km and width 0,8 km. The catch has been increasing since 1994 and was 313 in 1998. The best fishing spots are Mosnef, Kviar, Osinn, Svartibakki,  Fjaran and Fjorukrokur.
