This is a rather a short and a small river with its
sources in the mountains of the Dalasysla district. Its surroundings is diverse,
from gravel banks to lush vegetation. Mt. Hvolsfjall (600 m) towers over the valley.
The main road crosses the lower part of the
river and the anglers have to walk to most of the many dispersed fishing spots. The main
catch consists of the average sized and well tasting sea char. The distance from the
capital is about 198 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 45 km from Budardalur. |
