Lake Rekavatn in the
Skaga Parish has an area of 0,8 kmē, its greatest depth is 3 m and it
is almost at sea level. Two
rivers, Hafnaa and Hafnalaekur, spill into it, and it is separated
from the sea by a low gravel reef.
The main road passes
600-700 m from the shoreline of the lake.
The catch consists of sea char and brown trout, which get so
much food from the sea, that they are difficult to catch.
The distance from the capital is 298 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 30 from
Skagastrond. |
