Lake Saudaneslon has an area of 1,2 km². It is shallow and situated 3 m above sea level. River Lonsa empties into it and it is discharged through Saudaneslon. The road lies on the reef along the total length of the lake. It abounds in large fish, sea char, sea trout, and brown trout.

The Saudanes parish was one of the most desired of all such in the country by the clergymen in the past because of its advantages, eider down, driftwood and abundant fishing lakes. Nowadays the clergy does not bother about such vanity. The lake has been netted during the centuries. The distance from the capital is 628 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 9 km from Thorshofn.
