The sea
or arctic char is mainly to be
found in the cold mountain rivers in the north-western,
northern and eastern parts of the country. The sea trout is
most commonly found in the rivers of the South. The sea char
catch picks up in the beginning of July. Ever bigger schools
swim upriver until the end of August and in September the
rivers are teeming with them.
The
size of the char is different, two pounders are very common and 3-6
pounders are frequently caught and sometimes even bigger.
