Husavik is not only a busy fishing town. The inhabitants export fish products and diatomites and produce agricultural products. The rich fishing grounds are close to the harbour and it is very likely that the anglers spot several species of whales and sea birds on their way.

There is a large puffin colony on the Puffin Island. The boats are specially equipped for deep sea angling and all the tackle is ready on board. Afterwards  the catch can by prepare upon request. The distance from the capital is 481 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 91 km from Akureyri.
