Lake Stadarvatn has an area of 0,24 kmē. It is partially deep and situated 264 m above sea level.

It has a very small surface catchment area, but its discharge, Dalhusaa, is rather big. There is no passable road to the lake and the shortest walking distance is about 6 km. The catch consists of lake char.

The distance from the capital is 653 km by the Whale Bay tunnel and 25 from Vopnafjordur.
