River Svarfadardalsa is excellent for sea char angling and also offers some sea trout and the occasional salmon.  The char is on the larger side, there are five fishing spots, each for two rods.

The river is very popular and arrangements have to be made on beforehand.   The estuaries have been declared a nature reserve, which is very popular among bird watchers and nature lovers looking for beautiful and quiet surroundings.  There is a variety of accommodations as can be seen in the travel guide for the town Dalvik.
