Lake Urridavatn has
an area of 1,1 km². Its greatest depth is 15 m and it is situated 40 m above
sea level just east of road no. 1 and road 925 passes just south of it. The
rivers Hafralonslaekur and Merkilaekur feed it and its discharge is
Urridavatnslaekur. The catch consists of small lake char and brown trout.
The surrounding area is excellent for berry picking latein
August and early in September.
The hot springs in the lake are called Tuskuvakir. A horse shaped
creature with reversed hoofs was said to inhabit the lake, but it has
not been seen for quite a long time.
Fishing area: No restrictions. The best place for
fishing is where the creeks enter the lake.
Fishing is allowed from dawn to dusk.
Season: No restrictions.
Bait: All bait is allowed: fly, worm and lure.
