Lake Vatnsdalsvatn has an area of about 2,4
km² and is situated 18 m above sea level. Its surroundings are among the
most beautiful in the country. The catch consists of lake char, brown
trout, sea trout, sea char and the occasional salmon.
Accommodations are in Hotel Flokalundur, only a stone's throw away,
also camping grounds or camping
at Brianslaekur. The bay Vopnafiord is known from
the sagas, when one of the country's discoverers, Raven-Floki, landed
there and gave the country its present name.
