How to get there
This gorge represents the northern
boundary of the Sprengisandur route. It is a narrow gully
to the west of glacial river Skjalfandafljot, where travellers
rested and grazed their horses before or after crossing the
Sprengisandur desert.
Starting from Mývatn the highlights/or
Landmannalaugar are in reversed order. Please note that
provisions should be brought along for Sprengisandur.
