The drive along the fjord of Eyjafiord provides us with a splendid
view of Akureyri the capital of the north.
On our way to Gođafoss waterfall we travel through the valley Fnjoskadalur
with its meandering river. Gođafoss is the first stop on our way to Lake
Myvatn. Not only is Gođafoss a beautiful waterfall, but it has also
played an important role in the history of the country, particularly in
connection with the introduction of Christianity. From this scenic waterfall the road takes us to
Skutustadir which is the first site we
visit by Lake Myvatn. Intriguing pseudo-craters abound in this area.
At
midday we head for Husavik by schedule bus, a charming coastal village
rightly called the whale-watching capital of Iceland. We’ll set out to
sea with our seasoned guides, who maintain an incredible 98,5% success
rate for sighting various species of whales, including dolphins and
porpoises. Come join us for a wonderful day.
