Bus departs at 08:30
from town Hofn, at 08:50 from Hofn Airport, and
09;30 from crossroads #1 and #985 near the Smyrlabjargaa hydroelectric
power plant. The steep road passes through pristine glacial
landscapes, and the view on a fine day takes your breath away.
Sixteen kilometres from the crossroads, at the edge of the glacier
tongue Skalafellsjokull, is the Joklasel lodge. Snowmobile tours into
the brilliant and peaceful realm of ice and snow to the Midfellsegg
peak (1,140 m.), allow unforgettable views and experiences. After the
adventure on the ice cap, the tour goes on to the glacial lagoon
Jokulsarlon for a boat trip (30-40 minutes).
Arrival in Hofn airport at 17:15 and Hofn town
at 17:30.
In the Joklasel mountain lodge, there is a restaurant, and small shop
carrying some necessities.

Suðurfjörur black sand beach. After you land on the black beach itself
