Rjúpnavellir in Landsveit is a small and comfortable resort in south of Iceland. It is located near the famous active volcano - Hekla, about 90 minutes drive from Reykjavík. At Rjúpnavellir, there are sleeping bag accommodations for 44 people in two comfortable cottages. The cottages can place 20 and 24 people.

Staying at Rjúpnavellir is great way to experience Iceland. It is close to the highlands; places like Landmannalaugar, Hrafntinnusker, Veiðivötn and Fjallabaksleið. The cabins are ideally located for those interested in hiking and/or riding tours, enjoying the unspoiled nature or simply travel around. Hiking on the volcano skirts is an exhilarating and unforgettable experience.

The huts at Rjupnavellir are accessible by car.  They are situated just north of the forested area Galtalaekjarskogur.  Daily bus connections from the capital and from Landmannalaugar, hikers can catch busses in either direction by notifying the bus companys, Reykjavik Excursions or Trex, in advance.
