The factory and shop Alfasteinn in the eastern Borgarfjordur, manufactures and sells all kinds of processed semi-precious stones, mostly collected in the Borgarfjordur area, grave stones, and other store decorations. The shop is open daily during summer.

The shop also serves as a Café, Alfakaffi. Refreshments are also offered in the Cultural Community Centre, Fjardarborg, on the main street through the hamlet.
