Farm Horgsdalur is situated on the Lake Myvatn Moorland.  Old ruins, probably of a pagan temple, were discovered there around the turn of the 19th century.  They are about 10 m long and 6 m wide.  Across them, without touching the walls was an altar, probably for sacrifices.  Among other artefacts discovered were whetstones, charcoal and ashes.
