Hoskuldarvellir is a
green spot in the lava field to the west of the shield volcano
Trolladyngja on the Reykjanes Peninsula
in Southwest Iceland. A stream bead there seems to suggest some kind of
a discharge of water from the volcano Trolladyngja. When it is active
during the melting season of snow or discharge of ground water it runs
down the plains and continues to recreate the landscape.
Hoskuldarvellir is the largest green area of
the former district Gullbringusysla. |
