Mt
Hvitserkur is one of the most peculiar mountains of
the country. Its main structure is light coloured rhyolite lined with
basaltic dykes brought to the surface by the glacier erosion during
the ice age. It hides its interesting sides when looked at from
Borgarfiord. People either walk up to it or use their 4wd vehicles to
get closer to admire this wonder of nature. No one, who makes that
effort, regrets it.
