Our task is to organise and operate the public transportation in the Greater Reykjavik Area. The area comprises Reykjavik City and 10 neighbouring municipalities: Kopavogur, Garđabaer, Hafnarfjordur, Bessastadahreppur, Seltjarnarnes, Mosfellsbaer. Akranes. Borgarnes. Hveragerdi and Selfoss.
Our network consists of ofer 40 different bus routes.

Our buses operate from 7 AM until midnight, except on Sundays when they start at 10 AM. On weekdays, the buses generally operate at intervals of 20 minutes until 7 PM. In the evenings and on weekends, the interval is 30 minutes.

A single bus fare costs ISK 280,- (ISK 100,-
Young persons under 18 years). The bus drivers do not change or sell tickets, so the passanger must have the exact change ready. A transfer ticket can be obtained upon request when the fare is paid, and it is valid for 45 - 60 minutes.  The Reykjavik visitor's passport is also valid as a bus fare.  It can be obtained at the Tourist Information Centres.
