The carpenter Pall Kristjansson (1876-1968), who built the Husavik church in 1907 also supervised the building of the farm house on lake Graenavatn in the socalled Schweizer-stile.  It was devided between two families.  Two contractors built each his half of the house with separate basements.  Some of the original sheds still stand.

The total area of the house comprises 160 m².  The house was occupied into the fifties of the 20th century.  Since then it has been used as a storage space.  It has been under the protection of the National Museum since the year 2000.  Some restauration work was carried out the first two years of the 21st century.
