The Lutheran church in the fishing village Hofn was built during the period 1962-66, and on July 28th in 1966, it was consecrated. Mr. Ragnar Emils designed it and the building contractor was Mr Gudmundur Jonsson. The church seats 200 persons. In the congregational meeting hall is room for more attendants.
The babtismal font was carved by the artist Johann Bjornsson and it was donated to the church in the memory of those who were lost at sea with the fishing vessel Sigurfari in 1971. The stained window panes were designed by the German artist Maria Katzgrau. The organ was built in 1996 by P. Bruhn and Son in Denmark.
