Skaftafell Camping

Region: South Iceland
Coordinates: 64.0084268° N 16.9980739° W

The campground office is located next to the entrance gate. Visitors should register there prior to camping. Vehicle entry is allowed from 7:30  to 23:00. Please note that Vatnajökull National Park does not offer any equipment rental.
The campground in Skaftafell has room for about 400 tents. There are not designated pitches so no reservations can be made. A section is reserved for campers and camping trailers, with access to electricity. Reservations can be made for groups only. No indoor dining or cooking facilities are available for campground visitors. Dish washing can be done in kitchen sinks next to the service buildings. Wireless internet is available in the visitor centre. In winter it is permissible to pitch tents and stay in vehicles on the car park next to the visitor center.
