This waterfall is about 60 m
high and it is relatively easy to walk all the way around it. The mud
behind it is rather slippery.
In January 1967, the daily precipitation
was measured 101 millimetres at Skogar and all rivers in the area were
flooded. The flood broke a part of the brink of the waterfall and left
it a little less beautiful than before. The waterfall is very
prominent from the main road.
Gljufurarfoss is
among the most renowned waterfalls of Iceland only few km.
